I'm feeling a bit nostalgic this afternoon. I met up with some girlfriends last night after work for a night out and we ended up talking about weddings and renewing vows.
It's wedding time in my family with so many of my nieces and nephews getting close to 'marrying age'. I spent some time today thinking about my nephew Brandon's wedding last April and how much fun we all had. I am so thankful that he found Christine - an amazing woman and perfect fit for him - to share his life with. It just made it all the more special for us because they chose to include Cale and Elyse in their day. We have another big day in August when my nephew Jordan will marry his high school sweetheart, Emily. They are truly a match made in heaven. I am already looking forward to that wonderful day in August when they finally become husband and wife.
It was very fitting today when at nap time, instead of choosing from the dozen or so books laying on the cedar chest in my room, Luke rooted all around in them to find our wedding photo album at them bottom. When he said he wanted to look at the pictures in there as 'his book' for nap time, I couldn't resist. The three of us had a blast looking through the wedding photos from Cory's and my wedding. It was fun to see how much or little some people have changed over the past 13 years. I never would have guessed on that day thirteen years ago that we would be where we are now...in Ankeny with four amazing children and a house full of a lot of love and even more chaos.
